2012
I know it's been awhile since I've been on here and it was a long 2011! I'm starting a 12 week program to get in shape and loose weight. Most of the weight will disappear a day or two after I'm put back on the right dose of thyroid medicine. I've been feeling depressed the past couple of months because my family Dr decreased the amount of thyroid medicine I was taking. As a result I became so depressed in October and even more so in November that I was put on anti-depressants. Since the depression is a side effect of hypothyroidism the anti-depressant has given me constant headaches and bad migraines I was give a pain medicine for the chronic headaches I wake up with and a different medicine to take when my migraines start. As a result, I'm going to the ENT this week who did my surgery 8 1/2 years ago and hopefully he can recommend an endocrinologist who will take not only the bloodwork results into effect, but how my body uses the thyroid medicine I have to take daily. I'll try to update this once a week or so.
I have set the following goals for myself for 2012.....
I have set the following goals for myself for 2012.....
- Develope a Bible based diet during my personal daily Quiet Time to help with my eating & snacking
- Cut out caffinated beverages within the first 12 weeks of the year and then soft drink altogether after 24 weeks-after 24 weeks one or two soft drinks a week will be ok if I want one
- By the end of 2012 I will eat at fast food places (Burger King, Pizza Hut, similar local places) once a week
- Begin an exercise program and develope it to the point that I will be able to change routines due to weather or other time conflicts, but still workout six days a week
- Eat healthy at restaurants when I do eat out

Spring Break
Spring Break, was definately interesting. For the most part I have my paper work together for the medical board, still waiting on a doctor. Friday night I did letters for lyrics at the Zach Brown Band concert at Clemson. That was so much fun!!! and I didn't comletely loose my hearing :) Saturday I went to Biltmore and got to see my two most favorite flowers: Tulips and hydrgeneas, I was in heaven :) and then I saw this video, it's beautiful and made me think about Uncle Fred (so naturally I started crying, hopefully I'll stop soon)

Spring
Spring is here, pollen is in the air, and I'm in the mood to make Easter cards! My spring cleaning is about 25% of the way finished! I've brought out my spring cards stuff and put most of my winter card stuff up. Next week I get to sub in JROTC and then next Saturday is the JROTC softball tournament. I can't wait.

Teaching and other stuff
2 hours is not long enough for the PRAXIS I barely finished my test Saturday. They called time half-way through my last sentence. :) I've also decided to give the National Guard a shot, if they'll have me. I'm getting all my medical stuff together and should know if they'll take me or not the beinning of April. That's also about the time I'll know if I passed the test I have to take to teach in SC.

What has this country become?
Ok, I ask this question not expecting an answer, but I have to...What kind of a society have we become? So this is the second time I have been in a particular class with "children" (Seniors in high school actually) who refuse to even be quiet when the pledge is being said and we have a moment of silence, let alone actually stand up and say the pledge. And when I have said something to them about why they don't they don't even answer respectfully. I'm not sorry for my attitude about this, and maybe I'm different, but that boils my blood and really ticks me off. Are you ready for the kicker, the two JROTC cadets in the class, one of whom is going in the Marines, wouldn't even stand up and gave me the same displeased attitude and body language the rest of the class did. Maybe it's because I've lost family members in a war and I know a lot of military people, but I feel this type of behavior is simply intolerable. Is there anyone not related to the military that has pride in this country any more? Personally, I've lost almost all my respect for these students and people like them. My great uncles might have died so they could be disrespectful, but I sure don't have to like it at all! And I invite everyone like them to move to Lybia.

Choices
Life is so full of choices :) I love subbing at the high school and I'm really excited about getting to add Social Studies to my teaching certificate, but I have a job interview with health and human services next week and that's a good option too. Commander introduced me to the National Guard recruiter today and told him I'd make a good officer and we talked a little about that. Commander thinks it would be good for me and I have to agree. I do have reservations, but it's something I'm seriously considering and praying about. It's almost funny how many doors God has opened up for me just in the past week. I'm eager to see which ones are going to close and which ones are going to stay open. Pray for me to know what to do, these aren't decisions I can make lightly.
